Simple Weekly Update

I am bad at making up titles, as you may have already noticed. =P

So my mum came back from Japan, and she got me the merchandise I wanted:

Nana Mizuki's Sing Forever Music Scorebook!!
I just adore cute girls in whatcha-call those blazer/jacket + ties. Which is why I liked the female prefects' dressing back during secondary school. ~_~

The book cost around 4000yen, if I recalled correctly. I don't play a piano, which is what the book is about - piano scores of several Nana's recent songs. But besides that, it got many pretty photos of her Live Formula concert, and that alone is worth the buy. Maybe I can try my hands of translating the scores to something for a harmonica, perhaps...?

The work load in camp last week was really crazy-paced. So much work and a tight schedule that I only had four hours of sleep on average everyday. The local exercise and packing/sending ration, and taking temporarily charge of the Signal store was a little too much for a greenhorn like me to handle.
There were also lots of last minute arrangements/cock-ups; so much that it was a pain in the arse to try to readjust in order to meet those requests. Especially the one on Thursday night, where we had to work ourselves to the bone until 4am the next day. Surprisingly, it was actually a pretty enjoyable experience and I won't mind burning midnight oil for this kind of thing - as long as it doesn't happen on a daily basis. ^^

A big thanks to 1Sgt Derrick for the tremendous help in assisting us during those tough times. We didn't get to sleep in the Signal store as you suggested, but maybe next time, 'kay? XP

For the gaming side of my life, I have been recently addicted to Star Ocean First Departure for the psp. I think I have been spending a little too much time on that. Bleh.

Package from overseas!

So it was just last Wednesday. I was sending ration to outfield when I received a sms from my mom that a parcel addressed to me had reached our mailbox. Even without her telling me what it is, I knew very well the contents inside it...

My very own copy of Mizuki Nana's latest single "Trickster" has arrived!!

I don't have my usual camera with me, so let's just settle with a picture of the cd cover that I ripped from some random site. ~_~
Blame my mom - she took off with the camera and went ahead to Japan, without me AGAIN!!!
Come on, didn't you and my cousins went to Japan just recently while I was in Tekong? And you say you are going again next month when I am slaving away in India? GRRRRR...!!!

Ahem, back to the actual topic.
Apart from the aforementioned Trickster, I also ordered her older singles; "Wild Eyes" and "Eternal Blaze". I think at this rate, I will be buying almost all her other singles, just for song completion sake. Oh, and maybe the upcoming Live Fighter concert dvd while I am at it. =P

*PS: Time to change my music playlist on blog to showcase Nana's latest songs. Enjoy~!

----------

On to news about my unit, we recently welcomed two new storemen into our group.

And o' so coincidentally, one of them just so happened to be my bunkmate back in my BMT days. I mean, what were the chances in the world? And it was kinda funny too, since I actually caught sight of his name before seeing him in person, and the thought of him being someone I knew didn't even crossed my mind. Geez.

Anyway, moving onto non-NS topics.
I am doing some overhaul with my iteMeister's story at the moment. And the title still annoys me. For good or worse, the word "ITE" is so glaringly obvious to me. I need to remodel the name.

"iteMeister" (last update: 051008)

Been a little busy with army. But that is no excuse for ignoring my own side projects!

Imagine a standard Shounen (action/adventure) genre story in a modern-like setting, imbued with elements similar to that of a typical role-playing game (rpg), and you will get the gist of my latest incoming comic work: iteMeister !!
=============================

BACKGROUND:
"Itemeister"; a honourable title bestowed only to individuals possessing remarkable knowledge and proficiency over a wide range of consumables.
The protagonist Travis is known as one such Itemeister to many, but not by the government, which refuses to recognise his trade as official. Despite this, he continues to travel around the nation, aiding those who require his skill.

During a visit to the capital city, Travis chances upon an encounter with the enigmatic Lunette. This fateful meeting marks the beginning of a string of adventures between the two, and together they will fend off against numerous foes, including the government's very own combat specialist unit; "Avant-Garde".
All whose very common goal is to eliminate the one who they labelled as the being who will bring impending doom to the world - the Dark Moon Empress, Lunette.

Why is Travis on her side then? And how will his mere profession in items stand up to the might of Lunette's enemies? This is the tale of the iteMeister!

My notes:
The above character portraits are drawn with my usual style. I am however thinking of trying a different "cuter/softer" art approach for this comic - only because I wish to change the story's feel to something less serious, and more light-hearted(?). So, pictures may subject to change. =P
