Reminisce (Prelude)

intr.v. rem·i·nisced, rem·i·nisc·ing, rem·i·nisc·es

To recollect and tell of past experiences or events.

^Can you guess what I am going to blog today?
-----------------------------------------------

Yet another month has passed, and again, it took me this long to get my lazy arse moving and log in a brand new entry for my blog.

A few... rather eventful stuff, happened during this dry period of blogging. Quite a handful of stuff to talk about actually, so I decided to spread them out. To make things a little interesting, I will have each incident input in reverse-chronological order over the next few days. Strictly on July's events though, but my title today still comes into relevance (recollecting memories ma~).

So a quick rundown on what to expect, my dear readers:

Day1= The 9-years old diary
Day2= Cosfest 2007
Day3= Game Exoro @ NUS
Day4= Transformers! & Aruru?
Day5= East Coast's (Slave) Job

Well, just look at the list; 5 days worth of wonderful blogging. Ain't you excited already? =D
Okay, putting crap aside, today's topic will be about my 9yrs old diary.
I wanted to talk about Cosfest2007 which happened today, but I haven't gotten my pics from JW & Shawn so I will just get that entry done tomorrow...I think.

kiddish-diary...I think someone gave it to me =D

So what-the-heck is this 9yrs diary crap?? Simply put, it is a really laughable mini-notebook I had been keeping for nine years. Yep, ever since I was in primary6. The things I wrote inside spanned for roughly 2 years; 1998~2000, before my laziness finally got the better of me. Still, the diary contained numerous lame articles I wrote, which really proved how immatured I was back then.

However, what is interesting was how it contained an abstract of my old love-life (or the lack thereof).

Here's a snippet, directly quoted from my diary:

7 August 2000
" ...xxx came to school today, I was so happy. Not only that, I also got to take the same M.R.T Train with her. I didn't look directly at her when on the train. I was talking to ChongKai but in my heart I am thinking of her. When ChongKai got off the train, I just stare outside, as long I don't look at xxx.
I don't have the guts to look at her..."

"...I wanted to look at xxx after the train ride . (We lived in Tampines) So when the train reached Tampines, I walked slower so I could be at the back of her. But it didn't work. She walked even slower!
Just outside the station, I pretended to top up my fare card just to look at her. But I didn't know she would also go and top up her fare card! xxx was so near to me, (around 10cm apart!) that I quickly walked back home, trying not to look at her.
...I hope xxx will turn up tommorrow!"

100% extracted from my diary, which kinda explains the weird grammar, typos, and sentence structure. Obviously my old flame's name was censored as xxx in this case, for privacy sake.

My point? It is FUN to read your old diary/logbook and see how much you have changed in contrast to yesteryear. And of course, the fun is doubled when you have lame stuff written - most definitely amusing for future readings.
So go blog your stuff and keep them safe, for in a few years down the road you can enjoy reminiscing those stuff~ Cheers

Nocturne family

Term Tests over.
.hack//GU vol2 completed.
Holidays commencing...

Woot. Time sure pass by real quickly. It is like what, a full month since I last made an entry on this blog? With Granado Espada (sg) around for 3weeks, it has been sucking my time everyday like there's no tomorrow. And guess what? Today's post is directly related to GE! >_<

I have recently hit the Lvl60 mark for my characters. This is a significant milestone for me, especially since all I reached was 50 during closed-beta. Of course, a mere L60 is nothing when my server already got players of the 100 levels. Unlike them, I ain't hardcore, and spent 60% of my time playing GE... in AFK mode. =D

Putting aside the big numbers, today is also the day where I will finally create my fourth character for my Nocturne family. Yup, no mistake there. I have been using only my 3 initial characters since day 1. <-omgwtfbbq

(from left) Melodi, Weiss, Pho Nocturne

Stock-Fighter,Ele,Scout combo, ala the cookie-cutter team of GE. They say you just can't go wrong with this grouping. Though, I seriously beg to differ. A Musketeer or Wizard is a much better character to go for, as I soon found out.
Whatever the case is, I endured my way through to 60 with this trio, and as of today, it is time I finally disband these loyal-suckers for my true-ideal team. *weep tears of... joy

So as I finish today's post, it is time for me to return to the mindless-grindfest world of Granado Espada. At least, I will get to play a new character, for a change! Ciao~

*Interesting tidbit:
Coincidently, my family reputation has risen to the value of... '666'. Ack!? Is this some tell-tale sign of to come for me in this game? Nah, can't be..! o_O;;

Schooling Days

School...
It is nearly a month since the new semester in TP begun. My timetable is pretty decent, with Monday being the only 'packed' day of the week. Monday-blues eh? Haiz. What in the world was the school thinking when they arranged a 2hr combined lecture? =_=;

LAN Shop...
Anyhow, I have been spending loads of time in Andrew's lanshop after school hours. Not that it is a complete bad thing, but I always feel that I could be using that kind of free time to go home early and review my work. I will probably start reducing my visiting-time to the shop; beats idling there the whole day.

DS Lite...
My DSLite is 1 month old! Thanks to the mod-chip I bought not long ago, let's just say I can now play free ds games! It can double off as an MP3 player too~
Lately, I have been neglecting my PS2 for games like Gundam, Pokemon etc. on the DS. No fret though, the PS2 still has a list of good titles I am going to pick up = PS2 is not just dead yet.
*BTW, .hack GU vol2 will be on sale next week. You betcha' I am gonna get it!

Anime...
Like I said before in a previous post, this Spring season is filled with tons of good anime series.
I had the privilege to preview yet another 6 series, bringing my total-watched to a grand 16!

Titles include: sola, Kaze no Stigma, Kamichama Karin, Engage Planet Kiss Dum, Claymore, Bokurano.
With the exception of K.Karin, I will probably be following the other 15 series throughout. I may blog about it in the near future, so stay tune(?)

Granado Espada...

Sg GE's official server is about to launch in a matter of 2 weeks or so. I can't remember the exact date, but I am pretty sure it is around mid-may. I am also clueless on the payment scheme, though I do hope it would be free-to-play. If not, count me out man.

Blog...
The few of you may have noticed that the banner for this blog has been removed. I finally decide to get rid of that makeshift picture - it gets uglier at every sight till I couldn't stand it anymore and had it taken off.
I am thinking of doing some 'radical' changes to my blog. However, the idea is still not quite concrete yet, so I will just go about and see how things turn out. Perhaps more of my own artwork displayed?

Speaking of artwork, how about a little' piece of drawing I made based on our favourite tagboard spammer Jun Wen aka Lance?

Ah, our cute lil' dork ^

SUPA ROBO WAR (W) !!

This is actually one whole week late at the time I am posting this, but here it is: I gotta' my Super Robot Taisen W..!!

For the noobs out there who don't know what that is, it is basically a long-running game series pitting various anime mecha shows together to combat against their foes. The premise is simply just that, but that is WHAT makes such game so appealing to the typical mecha otaku.

This W version is for the NDS, and as an old-time SRW fan, I just had to get my copy of it.

And so I finally purchased one (woot!) :

...SRWW + top3 favourite manga all at once!

Unexpectedly, Chuangyi decided to give me a 'surprise' by releasing new volumes for my three current-favourite manga series: Air Gear, Hayate no Gotoku, & Magister Negi Magi!

Happy I was, but my wallet did cry when I made those purchases. A hefty $95 disappeared after a single trip to Century Square..

But the joy I bought with it was, of course: Priceless.

Behold! My boliao-ness struck again!

I was actually pretty busy for the whole last week - so tied up with 'work' that I didn't even touch my goodies until yesterday. And whoa!, the manga volumes were frickin' sweet read in comparision to previous volumes. SRWW was even much better that I mad-rushed through the missions till scenario21.

note to myself: don't photograph something under glaring spotlights

Oh yea, the pic above has Tessa from FMP! preparing a missile strike onto the enemy. I tried taking that shot with the NDS running while under my table lamp. As you can see, the end-result is fugly due to unnecessary light reflection.

Anyway, enough of this backdated post. I am off to work on my personal project again.
What is it, you ask?
I shall leave that as a secret for now... teheh.

Spring is a Busy (anime) Season

Aah Spring; the season of renewal. When I think of it, I think of Spring-cleaning & Spring-fever. >_>

As a guy living in tropical Singapura, the typical everyday is like Summer. However generally as of now, regions located at the northern hemisphere is in their little-spring mode. That applies to Japan as well, and when it comes to Japan's spring it also means: ANIME SPRING SEASON is here!!

Spring is the season to watch anime... till you cry >_<

So it is that time of the year - Japan never fails to churn out anime like crazy, and this season we got at least 40 new series! I am not a hardcore viewer, so as of current I have only watched 10 series of that total lot:

Hayate no Gotoku! : comedy (romance?)
Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS : magical girl action
Idolmaster Xenoglossia : sci-fi mecha (fanservicey)
Nagasarete Airantou : comedy romance (harem)
Heroic Age : sci-fi mecha
Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann : mecha (LoL-fun)
Lucky Star : slice-of-life comedy
Darker than BLACK : sci-fi mystery
Hitohira : slice-of-life comedy ('drama' heh)
Shining Tears X Wind : fantasy (game-based)

Although I have only watched the first episode for 90% of the titles above, I enjoyed them all. The bold titles are my personal favourite, solely based on my first impression of the episode.

Lucky Star has slice-of-life bolded; that's because it takes that genre to new heights. Imagine having a conversation regarding food and only that for 10 mins. <-- that was what happened in just the first episode.

Anyway, its OP totally makes up for whatever shortcomings it has. Watch it, nao!

Moe?!
